Who Attends?

Offered for more than 15 years, the workshops have attracted a range of research disciplines – early career grant writers including in academia, libraries, research centers, public school systems, community foundations, and non-profits. The summer grant writing workshops are ideal for those who want to develop or sharpen grant writing skills, whether that be a proposal to a Foundation in your community, or for a proposal for a federal or international sponsor.

There are trillions of dollars invested each year in research and discovery. The R&D and knowledge enterprise is big business – so it is no surprise that grant seekers look for innovative ways to demonstrate their competitive advantage. How can you make your idea resonate with peer reviewers? The techniques employed in the art to grantsmanship include strong technical writing that is organized plus the creative story telling aspect that helps your peer reviewer envision the forecasted impact of your work in the short- and long-term.

Participants will hear from seasoned experts as they share their experiences as grant seekers and as peer reviewers. The best practice is to register and participate with intention. Leverage this dedicated time to apply what you have learn each week and write with us. For those who elect to prepare a grant proposal and submit it for preliminary peer review, you will receive constructive feedback and a consultation hour.
